CLASSES

Ballet & Tap (Classes available from 3yrs – 18yrs) ISTD

We follow the ISTD Ballet & Tap Syllabus from Primary to Grade 5. Classes are taught by the wonderful Miss Sam Ellis. We aim to make our classes fun and exciting. Everyone is welcome to come and give ballet or tap a go with no previous experience needed. Children progress into the next class as they perfect their technique, whether this results in taking their ISTD exam or not it is completely the child’s decision, here at Freedom we feel children learn best when there is no pressure... exams are completely optional!  Contact us to see which class is right for you.

Street Dance (Classes available from 5yrs – 18yrs)

This commercial style class is a great way for children to express themselves. They will learn how to move like their favourite pop star and work on their coordination and confidence in the process. No previous dance experience is needed. This class starts with a light warm up and is then followed by learning new street/commercial routines. In the older age groups classes do become more intense learning more technical mixes and regularly taking routines to various public performances.

Musical Theatre (Classes available from 5yrs – 18yrs )

In this class we work towards different musical theatre numbers each week. The class includes 3 disciplines; Dancing, Singing and Acting. It is a chance for the child to come out of their shell and show us what they’re made of! No previous experience is needed and is ideal for kids trying out their performing skills for the first time.

Jazz (Classes available from 7yrs – 18yrs)

Our Jazz classes are for those students wanting to push themselves and really train hard in all aspects of dance. Jazz combines many different dance styles and allows the student learn a variety of skills. The class includes thorough warm ups, stretching, corner work, centre work and various routines of different styles each week. This class is “Where you start paying… in SWEAT!”

Modern (Classes available from 4yrs – 18yrs) ISTD

We follow the ISTD Modern syllabus. This class is a great all round dance class that works on a variety of styles and skills. “Modern dance is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. This is a highly energetic dance style.” - ISTD

Acro (Classes available from 5yrs – 18yrs)

Freedom offer the internationally recognized syllabus Acrobatic Arts.

Acro as it is commonly called amongst dancers and professionals, is the beautiful fusion of a classical dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality and expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context. Dancers who train through Acrobatic Arts have a balanced development, are stronger more flexible and fearless.

Funky Monkeys & Mini Movers/Mini Ballet (Classes available from 2-4yrs)

Our Pre-School classes for 2-4yr olds are a great introduction to dance where your little one will be able to make new friends, work on their confidence and communication with others, as well as having a boogie to some of their favourite songs. We us props and imaginative exercises to help our youngest students learn new skills and start their dance journey. We have 3 different classes a week to choose from.

ELITE Team (Places offered from 5yrs - 18yrs)

We hold annual auditions for places on our Elite Team. We attend festivals, competitions, conventions and perform at many events throughout the year. The Elite team is aimed towards those students who wish to take their training to the next level and push themselves that bit further.
